
Br. Benjamin Posvo of the Redemptorist congregation will next month celebrate his silver jubilee as a religious Brother. Br. Posvo, who joined the Redemptorist Congregation in 1993 will celebrate his 25 years of service on 28 April 2018 at Posvo homestead under chief Hama in Chirumanzu.
Br. Posvo has worked in different capacities within the Redemptorist Congregation and the Archdiocese of Harare. He has for a long time worked as formator and superior of Alphonsus House. He once worked as the Director of the Redemptorist publications while at the same time, he was Director for Archdiocese of Harare’s CADEC now Caritas . He is currently the Director for Mavambo Orphan Care while he serves as the Regional Leader for the Redemptorists in Zimbabwe.
Br. Posvo served as a member of the General Secretariat for Brothers in the Redemptorist Congregation between 2003-2009. He was board member for Mavambo Trust from 2003-2008. Br. Posvo has been Regional Councilor for the congregation from 2003, Brothers Commission 2009-2014, Vocal for Africa and Madagascar from 2013, Health Committee for Mabvuku Poly Clinic from 2014, Caritas Board member from 2008 while he has been serving within the Redemptorist Development Trust since 2013.
Br. Posvo was born in a family of nine in 1970 under Chief Hama, Chirumanzu. After his primary education at Mavhaire school, Posvo went to Hama High School for his secondary education before joining the Redemptorist community in 1993. He holds several academic and professional qualifications from local and international universities and colleges. Br. Posvo is the senior of the five Brothers in the Redemptorist Congregation.
The Redemptorist congregation has five brothers and 14 priests in Zimbabwe who work mainly in the Archdiocese of Harare.
