Caritas Coordinators from across Zimbabwe’s eight Catholic Dioceses had their first quarter coordinating meeting to review their work in alleviating the plight of the poor in the local church.

Coordinators from the Archdiocese of Harare, Archdiocese of Bulawayo, Hwange, Masvingo, Gokwe, Chinhoyi, Gweru and Mutare converged at Africa Synod House to share their experiences and to develop new strategies especially on fundraising and supporting the needy.

Caritas National Coordinator, Chris Mwembe encouraged diocesan coordinators to exchange notes on fundraising  and work related issues. He challenged the coordinators to cooperate with others and to open up to new opportunities so as enhance Caritas work in the country. Mr. Mwembe said cooperation was key to development as it encourages participation of all.
