On Saturday 15 April 2023, 10 of the SJI Sisters celebrated their golden jubilee while two proclaimed 25 years of service at a function that was held in Driefontein mission under Gweru Diocese amid pomp and fan-fare.
The golden jubilarians are Sr. Rosemary Tarutira, Sr. Sabina Machikicho, Sr. Catherine Zingwena, Sr. Theresa Muzira, Sr. Catherine Ruzive, Sr. Evelyn Kwaramba, Sr. Otilia Chakauya, Sr. Auxilia Manyawi, Sr. Beatrice Chinyama and Sr. Salome Chinyama.
Sr. Tendai Mazura and Sr. Maria Murwira who made their first profession in 1998 celebrated their silver jubilee.
Bishop Emeritus of Hwange turns 81

Bishop Emeritus of Hwange, Albert Serrano turns 81 and his birthday was celebrated on Friday, 14 April 2023 in Dete, Hwange. Priests, Sisters and the laity from around Dete Community accompanied Bishop Serrano in the celebration of his birthday. The Bishop thanked God for the long life during holy mass which he celebrated with the assistance of Fr. Simwinde and Newman Ndlovu. Bishop Serrano was born 14 April 1942 in Zaragoza in Spain.
