Pilgrims to the World Youth Day in Portugal from Zimbabwe have received a donation of T-shirts and jackets from Bliss Nuest Company.
Bliss Nuest Company Director, Mrs. Clara Shoko from St. Gerards Parish on 17 July 2023, presented 100 T-shirts and 21 jackets labelled World Youth Day 2023 to the Zimbabwe Catholic Commission for the Laity and National Youth Coordinator, Fr. Johane Maseko who will be accompanying the pilgrims to Portugal.
96 youth are registered under ZCBC to attend the World Youth Day which starts on 01 August 2023. The pilgrims will leave Zimbabwe on 24 July and come back on 08 August 2023.
From 24 July to 01 August the youth from Zimbabwe will be hosted by the Diocese of Saro in Tavira.
As a way of preparing for the journey, the pilgrims and their advisors will encamp at Chishawasha National Seminary from 22-24 July to pray for the success of the pilgrimage and to facilitate bonding and team building among pilgrims from Zimbabwe.
Fr. Maseko appealed for more donations from well-wishers to support the pigrims on their trip.
“We appeal for more assistance in terms of food, guidance, grooming tactics and other necessities during our camping period at Chishawasha National Seminary as we prepare for the pilgrimage. We also implore members of the Church to prayer for the success of this important spiritual journey,” appealed Fr. Maseko.
