As all roads lead to Gokwe for the Episcopal Ordination of Monsignor Eusebius Nyathi on 23 September 2023, the diocesan spokesperson, Fr. Damian Gumbo said the diocese is ready to host its fourth episcopal ordination in the history of the diocese.
Fr. Gumbo said preparations were going on very well under the leadership of the ordination committee led by Mr. Francis Nsiyaludzi. He said that all the parishes in the diocese were eagerly participating and contributing in the preparations.
Thousands of people will be flocking to St. Paul’s Primary School in Gokwe Centre to witness this grant occasion. According to Fr. Gumbo, the diocese is expecting 5 000 people from across the country.
“We have several sub committees that are working towards the success of the episcopal ordination which include catering, liturgy, events management, choir, fundraising, accommodation, transport and many others. All parishes, institutions and commissions are contributing towards the success of the event in cash or kind. I am impressed by the active participation of everyone in the diocese,” commended Fr. Gumbo.
Fr. Gumbo called on the Church in Zimbabwe to support the diocese with whatever resources that they can avail for the diocese to be able to sustain the gathering.
Msgr Nyathi will be consecrated as the forth bishop of Gokwe Diocese after Bishop Rudolf Nyandoro, the late Bishop Emeritus Angelo Floro and Bishop Emeritus Michael Dixon Bhasera.
